Work for Norfolk Tourism includes writing media releases, organising and facilitating group and individual press visits, running a press office facility, writing news stories for www.visitnorfolk.co.uk and liaising with partner organisations.
In 2011, I worked with BBC Learning on Dig Around in Ancient Norfolk to tie in with the BBC's national Hands on History theme. The project was aimed at visitors and Norfolk residents. This included working with partners across the county to develop an events programme. I compiled and managed the production of a Dig Around in Ancient Norfolk leaflet featuring events and places to visit.
The leaflet was launched at the Sedgeford excavation in west Norfolk with a two-hour live BBC Radio Norfolk outside broadcast.
I have worked with Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden, since January 1999 and have advised the manager on most aspects of public relations and marketing, as well as interpretation, including writing the guide book, and events management. I provide the press office function for the garden and social media support.
We have won the EDP Tourism in Norfolk awards - best visitor attraction, sustainable tourism and Broads holiday experience categories. My work for Fairhaven has also involved appearing as a wicked monk at Halloween and an elf at Christmas!
